On every Saturday a club activity is prearranged in Center of Media Studies. In this club students embark their talent in front of whole faculty. And we the students of Center of Media Studies are thankful to our Course Coordinator Mr. Dhananjai Chopra who gave the opportunity to be the part of creativity at its peak.

On this Saturday i.e. February 5th, 2011 Mr. Anil Kumar Bhowmik –great dramatist was invited with his group ‘Smanantar’ at our Saturday Club. Group enacted three plays giving social messages.

The title of the first play was Ishwar-Allah which was written by Late Vasu Malviya and was directed by his son Punar Vasu Malviya .This play was based on the Babri Masjid issue. It showed that how people are fighting for a piece of land. It gave the message that in this fight people have forgotten GOD. In the name of faith they are fighting for their fame. It also gave the message of communal harmony.

The topic of the second act was ‘Pathar’ it was written by Late Vasu Malviya and directed by Rishi Kumar. In this act protagonist of the act was compared to a stone as all his feelings were dead due to dominating nature of society. This act gave the message that now its the time to change the typical laws of the society otherwise that time is not far away when human being will be void of any feelings.

The third play showed the race for the power and position. Its title was ‘Loktantra’. This was written and directed by Punar Vasu Malviya. This play presented that how people are running for the fame. Today everyone is ready to move heaven and earth for achiving power and position.

The dramatic presentations were very inspiring and motivational. All the audience was hovered by the zephyr of messages given through the enactment. This type of programme is very beneficial for the youths to comprehend the society well. This might help in building a better tomorrow. As it is said that………

Political Drama or Realism!

I am not an analyzer but the recent statement given by telecom minister Kapil Sibal in favour of Ex-Telecom Minister A Raja after he was arrested with his two aids -S Behuria and RK Chandolia is dim-witted. Whether this detention is done to castigate the masterminds of the spectrum scam or to lower the pressure of the opposition in the coming Budget session it is tuff to comprehend.

After the arrest yesterday all the senior political forecaster of south said that DMK will sideline Raja. But I am unable to understand why in spite of coming state election DMK is favouring Raja.

Now it is assumed to extent the pressure and breaking the unity of the opposition government will be ready for JPC also. If Government of India is really 'serious' about corruption they should agree to a JPC. Democracy has been degenerated into this perpetual war between political groups its true ends are no where in the picture and no one to care for. Media act like bout managers for the game, romanticizing and increasing its thrill value!

The most attention-grabbing thing I discovered on most of the news channels is enlightening the minute to minute facet of Raja in CBI office. In fact the food he eat was also put in the picture.

President of BJP Gadkari said in the press conference that Raja or Kalmadi are only the small fish in the scam of big sea. He was in a roundabout way targeting the Prime Minister. DMK is divided in two parts where Union Minister Alagiri is against Raja others are firm on supporting him.

Discussing the same issue with my close pal Shaljm she said corrupt politicians are more treacherous than even the terrorists. In fact this point is very apt. On one hand terrorists attack our country unswervingly but corrupts do it circuitously. After the Radia tapes came into public domain it seems Raja will had to run on a rocky terrain now.

Kalmadi can be next to lesser the pressure of the opposition. The big thing which CBI is investigating is where the black money is. Let witness what happens in the approaching days I anticipate that this time authoritarian action must be taken so that corrupts should not next instant even imagine of doing such big scams. If this case also goes like other cases in which no gigantic action has been taken not in favour of the politicians then what is the need of a democratic nation.

REPUBLIC DAY

|
The poet has sung-
“breathes there the man with a soul so dead,
who hath not to himself hath said:
this is my own my native land.

M

y firm belief says, this very essence of patriotism bloomed in every Indian heart the desire to breathe free. The heroic struggle waged by the people of India to liberate themselves from the bristly shackles of foreign rule, lead to the country’s independence.

And on 15 Aug 1947 India got Independent.
But Independence was not enough, India was Independent as a dominion, with the British monarch as head of state… and hence the task of framing the constitution was given to Constituent Assembly formed under the Cabinet Mission Plan of1946. On 26th January the “Constitution of India” came into force. And India became a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and REPUBLIC and assured Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity to all its citizens. Henceforth this day is marked as ‘REPUBLIC DAY’ in the annals of Indian History.

Since then India has sprouted to give the best to its citizens, but with the development in every sphere we are still entangled with a section of society which is devoid of the gleam of this harvest. In the encoded social norms corruption has become the rule of the day. Along with Politicians and Bureaucrats it has also entered the veins of maestros from the world of Corporate, Media and the most reliable and honored Defense. The Commonwealth games scam, Adarsh Society scam and 2G Spectrum scam aver the entire story. Social Inequality and Poverty still prevails. The farmers of the nation commit suicides because of poverty and debt and we have several crores of black money stored in Swiss Bank. In spite of this pitiable condition the Politicians are busy to struggle for ‘Vote Bank’.

Although India has shown enough maturity in the case of ‘Ayodhya Verdict’, still we know and are aware that the “Intolerance of Secularism” exists. We cannot have a better example than Kashmir violence. Social Inequality prevails, Illiteracy ranks high, Population is on the threshold of explosion. We are not denying the development that took place but what’s the use of such a development which is only for a section of society. Making Rich more Richer and Poor more Poorer and making India a RICH COUNTRY OF POOR PEOPLE.

Its time for the educated youth to initiate a new revolution, need to be optimistic and rise together to a higher level of thought and see a vision of an India which has relevance of its being “ REPUBLIC & INDEPENDENT”.

On 26th January we will celebrate our REPUBLIC DAY with great fervor and felicity with President of Indonesia Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as Guest of Honour. We should look forward for the success of the celebration and should be optimistic to see the sunshine of a dawn which brings prosperity and glory to our nation.

Prime Minister’s Musical Chairs

From the shuffle prepared by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh the only thing which has come out is that he has put new wine in old bottles. From couple of months Prime Minister was saying that he will reshuffle the cabinet and wants some new-fangled and youthful blood to drive the country. But now it seems that he forgotten all his desires for enhancing the position of Congress party in states where elections are on the course.

The only thing we can do from this reshuffle is bang our heads. After day by day reports of corruption in in-effect ness of numerous ministers it was believed by not only political-pandits but also populaces that Prime Minister will do rectification not only to run his government for full tenure but also to lower the burden of the opposition.

Not only issues like Commonwealth Games and 3G spectrums Government is giving the inkling of being in peril because of current big trouble price rise. Not only commoners of rural area but price rise have affected the populace of urban areas to. And these problems have emerged because of awful ministers so all of us have assumed that Prime Minister will not only clean the cabinet from corrupt and terrible ministers but also bring faces which can help the Prime Minister managing the government circumspectly.

No minister has been dropped from the last dispensation. Only three new faces have been brought in others have been mingled. Most of them have been questioned on corruption and in-effectness for administrating the branch have been rewarded and given promotion or their ministry has been changed so that they can make the outcome of other section also 0.

In the press conference it was said that it is a minor shuffle and the big one will take place after the budget session of the parliament. From this shuffle one thing which can happen in that rearranging is bringing back A Raja.

This reshuffle shows that Congress has only thought of state elections not at all about the country. Since in Uttar Pradesh elections are on head so two ministers were given promotion and one new was brought in.Same is with Kerala. The only thing I liked in this reshuffle is giving Sports Portfolio to Ajay Maken who is young face of this cabinet and looks very confident to make our country a sporting power.

After his promotion Praful Patel commented that he is happy since he can see many of his juniors going up in the cabinet. His performance was also not gratifying since in his term as a Civil-Aviation Minister Air India condition has became worst. Deshmukh was also not removed in spite of so many allegations nor did Kamalnath who was articulate as unsuccessful minister.

The game of Musical Chair which Prime Minister has played will not only give opposition more strength but I am afraid that UPA-2 will complete its term or not. If anyone can understand the full logic of this reshuffle, please do explain it to me.

Ayodhya -An Authentic Decision

| Friday, October 1, 2010
The most significant feature of the much-awaited Allahabad High Court verdict is that it has overturned the only other judgment of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute: a Faizabad district court verdict of 1886. At that time, confronted by litigation that arose from Hindu-Muslim tension over the issue, district judge FEA Chamier ruled in March 1886: "It is most unfortunate that a Masjid should have been built on land specially held sacred by the Hindus, but as that occurred 356 years ago, it is too late to remedy the grievance."
It's a day the country has waited for months, years, why even a generation. And when it finally came, it turned out to be one that is truly secular in character. While seeking to settle the issue once and for all, the honorable judges have decreed that Lord Ram was indeed born at that particular spot and that it should be handed over to the Hindus. But at the same time, the court kept open the issue of ownership of the place.

On Thursday afternoon, a majority decision of a the three-bench court disagreed with the fundamental premise of Chamier. It held that because the Babri structure was built after demolishing a pre-existing Hindu temple in 1528, it couldn't really be regarded as a legitimate mosque, at least theologically. As such, it had absolutely no hesitation in endorsing the belief among large numbers of Hindus in the Awadh region that the disputed site was indeed the rightful inheritance of Ram bhakts. The High Court said that, ideally, the 70 acres of so of disputed property should be split three ways but that the Ram lalla (child Ram) idol should be allowed to remain at the site of what was earlier the central dome of the Babri Masjid.
The unambiguous verdict of the High Court was, to say the least, unexpected. Till Wednesday evening, the so-called secular forces and the Muslim leadership were insisting that the verdict would establish the majesty of the Constitution and the highlight the non-negotiable nature of the rule of law.
After the verdict, their enthusiasm is distinctly less pronounced. It has been suggested that the verdict is a tacit legitimization of both the installation of the idols inside the Babri Masjid in December 1949 and its dramatic demolition 43 years later. If the Babri structure was a non-mosque since its construction in 1528, the crime of the kar sevaks was the desecration of a medieval monument and not a place of worship.
Undoubtedly, this interpretation of the dispute is going to be contested in the Supreme Court. That a section of the Muslim community is unhappy with the judgment is obvious. But far more significant than that is the fury with which the judgment has been greeted by the secular modernists. Apart from contesting everything that the "eminent historians" have been suggesting about Ram being born in Afghanistan or somewhere else and about the Babri structure having been built on vacant rock, the judges have attached greater weight to the Archaeological Survey of India report and to the weight of local tradition.
As for the Congress party, it was deeply apprehensive of what the judgment might be. They must be happy now as the BJP does not get to use the Ram Temple issue in future electoral contests to polarize the voters. The most immediate impact of this would be in the campaign for the Bihar elections.

But I am a bit disappointed by the statement of Zafaryab Jilani that he intends to appeal against the judgment in the Supreme Court. No question that he has every right to go to the higher court but i think Muslims as a community should realize that this is the rarest moment in the history of Free India and they will present a really historical example by accepting the decision as it is. History does give us rare moments to rise above the level and set the example for future generations. If they decide not to appeal, it will really be the greatest and proudest moment for all those who have strong belief in secularism and Sarva Dharma Sam Bhav.
This affords political parties the opportunity to fight for the transfer of the land for the construction of the temple and the mosque, thereby opening up a new issue even as it settled one. The judgment is a step forward but a very small one and it is difficult to predict now the complications that lie ahead. Yet it was gratifying to note that the rabble-rousers on either side were conspicuous by their absence.

There are no doubt maximalists on both sides who seek total victory for themselves and a total defeat for their adversaries. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has many such elements in its leadership. Its demand, made only a few days before the verdict, that Hindus must have unhindered possession of all 70 acres of the disputed site and that no mosque should be located within the municipal limits of Ayodhya, suggest an astonishing degree of narrow mindedness which is dangerous for the country. If these bigoted elements start interpreting the verdict according to their convenience, it will be only a matter of time before the whole atmosphere of India is vitiated and the Hindus lose the moral advantage they have at present.
It is important that quick steps are taken to allay all the misgivings of those who see themselves as the defeated side. There will be enough politicians and general busybodies who will suggest that the High Court verdict has menacing implications for all minorities—quite forgetting that the Places of Worship Act of 1991 make it impossible for an Ayodhya-type dispute to emerge in the future. There will be appeals to Muslim victimhood and the sinister suggestion that the community can never expect justice from a biased Hindu-dominated judiciary.
For the Hindus, the High Court verdict was a significant victory. Statesmanship demands that it shouldn't also be translated as a landmark Muslim defeat. The High Court verdict on Ayodhya should end a very troubled chapter of India's history and not initiate a new discord.

For me the most important fact has been the peaceful, mature reaction of the people of India. They have risen above the nightmares of the past and taken a historic stride towards our dreams for the future. But on 30th of September 2010 India proved to itself that as a society, as a democracy and as a grouping of ethnic diversity, it has reached that point where the anfractuosities of its blood-splattered history can be straightened by the obvious apathy of goal-oriented, forward-looking, self-centred young India of today and tomorrow. It is important to note that the judgement will come into force only after three months and the Centre will continue to hold the property as Receiver. It is a transparent and clear verdict over a 60-year-old complicated case. Now, it is up to the people of India to make the best of this historic verdict for peaceful coexistence. For me the most important fact has been the peaceful, mature reaction of the people of India. They have risen above the nightmares of the past and taken a historic stride towards our dreams for the future.

Kashmir:A Satirical Issue

| Friday, September 17, 2010

Seeing the present situation i can undoubtedly say that Prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, home minister P. Chidambaram and Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah are in a cockpit, so control things. They are together playing a very dangerous game. After the unfortunate deaths of over 84 people in J&K in the recent spate of violence, the trio instead of going after the perpetrators of the violence are trying to deflect the issue to the armed forces special powers act; its dilution or lifting it from some parts of the state.

Kashmir Issue is a disease which we adapted from very begging of our independence and in spite of so much of cure the disease has not yet vanished. Till the time this dispute has begun it has till now taken lives of more than 80 to 90 thousand lives of innocent populace.
I have listened to number of debates on this issue many state that this agitation is not for governance problems and administration but it is the result of erroneous behavior towards the youth of J&K. This turbulence is not at its peek. They on this point only pressurize government to exclude army interference in Kashmir. When the unemployment expel automatically the turmoil stop.

From my point of view, government should not day dream that automatically t
he crusade will disappear and everything will be in order. We all know that whether it is UPA government or NDA government in the past have treated Kasmiri's awfully. Time to time because of their political quandary and so that kasmiri's are happy both the alliances have constructed the situation so fallacious that now the ball is out of the court. Major amount of fund is available for the commoner of Kashmir in the union budget but if that money has not reached to the populace then question should be asked to the politicians and administrators of the state.

When questions are been raised on the Pakistan's involvement in the dispute. I am not at all in a doubt that it is included in some or the other way. Few days ago as we saw Pakistan and china's army drilling in POK area Pakistan is definitely involved in this so called agitation. In result of this only China have now started to call Kashmir as a impenetrable land.

Tomorrow when one journalist in a press conference asked Rahul Gandhi's interference he politely answered that Omar is taking right steps and i will not solve every issue of the country. From this articulation we can claim that central government definite that it will not take any big risk to stop this clash. It was also audible after the meeting of Mufti Mohammad Saed with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. But in his statement Rahul Gandhi also stated that Kashmir is arduous part to administrate so we should give time and support to Omar. I can only hope that this violence is fenced as early as possible. And government should not buckle under.
